He is theexecutive chairmanandCEOofMicrosoft, succeedingSteve Ballmerin 2014 as CEO[2][3]andJohn W. Thompsonin 2021 as chairman.[4][5]Before becoming CEO, he was the executive vice president of Microsoft’s cloud and enterprise group, responsible for building and running the company’s computing platforms.[6]
